Spring Semester 2020 registration underway at รศรรสำฦต 

Gadsden, Ala.--Online registration at รศรรสำฦต for Spring Semester 2020 is underway and continues through Jan. 14 with classes beginning Jan. 10 for full spring semester and spring mini I term.  Visit  and click on the link to “ONEACCS” at the top of the page to begin the registration process. To be admitted, click on the “Admissions & Aid” tab then click “Apply Now.”  For more information regarding admission or registration email admissions@gadsdenstate.edu.

 

รศรรสำฦต Music Department scholarships available

Gadsden, Ala.—Full- and half-tuition scholarships are available for participation with the รศรรสำฦต A Cappella Choir, Singers and Show Band for Spring Semester 2020.  Students don’t have to be music majors to participate.  Scholarships are only available for Alabama residents upon completion of a successful audition.  For more information, or to schedule an audition, contact J.T. รศรรสำฦต Jazz Festival Nov. 7

Gadsden, Ala. — รศรรสำฦต’s third annual Jazz Festival “Celebrating Women in Jazz” will be Nov. 7 at Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center. This year’s event features Roxy Coss, saxophonist; Christie Dashiell, vocalist; Dr. Kate Skinner, pianist and vocalist; and Summer Camargo, trumpeter. They will teach a clinic and have a question-and-answer session at 1 p.m. and will perform in the concert finale at 7 p.m. directed by Dr. Matt Leder, music director at รศรรสำฦต.  It is free and open to the public.  In addition, the Jazz Festival offers an educational film about women in jazz as well as performances by ensembles from around the state.  An after-party jam session will be held right after the concert at Blackstone Pub & Eatery. There will be no cover charge. Musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments and sit in.

 

Massage Program clinics at รศรรสำฦต

Gadsden, Ala.--  รศรรสำฦต’s Therapeutic Massage program is offering student clinical massages Tuesday through Thursday in Prater Hall Room 14 on the Valley Street Campus.  Morning appointments are at 9 and 10:30 a.m. with afternoon appointments scheduled for 12:30 and 2:00 p.m.  Please call 256-549-8326 to leave a message or speak with someone to schedule a massage. รศรรสำฦต program celebrates national observance

Gadsden, Ala. — รศรรสำฦต’s Radiologic Technology program will host an Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at Bevill Hall on the Wallace Drive Campus. The event is in observance of National Radiologic Technology Week Nov. 3-9.  “Waves of the Future” is the theme of this year’s celebration which calls attention to the important role medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals play in patient and health care safety. Radiologic technologists – the people who operate the diagnostic equipment and deliver radiation treatment – are an important part of the health care team. Yet, few people are aware of who radiologic technologists are or what they do.

Community members and friends of the College are invited along with students, faculty and staff to attend the Open House. It is free and open to the public.

รศรรสำฦต study abroad in France 2020

Gadsden, Ala. — รศรรสำฦต’s Fine Arts Department is hosting a 10-day trip to France as part of a study abroad program. Students may enroll in the accompanying ART 109 class for college credit. Limited space is available for those in the community who would like to go on the trip. The trip, scheduled for June 15-24, is $4,305 for those under 30 years old. Travelers who are 30 and over will pay $4,625 and receive a room upgrade. รศรรสำฦต hosts student success workshops

Gadsden, Ala.--รศรรสำฦต is hosting three workshops focused on student success during November on three of its campuses. “My Major and My Career,” also known as the M&M Expo, will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Learning Resource Center on the Ayers Campus and Nov. 14 in the Inzer Student Center Breezeway on the Wallace Drive Campus. This workshop will assist students in choosing the right major for their career path. Free M&Ms will be distributed during the workshops.

“Cupcakes and Careers” will be held at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 20 in Room 124 of the Academic Building at รศรรสำฦต Cherokee.  Students will be guided to personalized career suggestions based on their interests using รศรรสำฦต’s Cardinal Career Explorer software.   They will also browse careers and explore wages, employment and education requirements.
