รศรรสำฦต to host camp for high school students

Gadsden, Ala. – Area students can participate in enrichment activities offered during a three-day youth camp hosted on รศรรสำฦต’s Valley Street Campus, the area’s only Historically Black College and University campus.

The 2022 Empowerment Camp will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 7-9 in the Learning Resource Center at 600 Valley Street in Gadsden.

“Empowerment Camp 2022 will focus on activities that promote personal growth, financial literacy and interaction,” said Shameka Gilyard, Title III director. We want students to complete the camp feeling empowered with knowledge, tools and skills they can use to be successful in high school, college and beyond.”

Each day of camp, participants will have the opportunity to interact with speakers and presenters from รศรรสำฦต, from the community and from the Family Success Center. An excursion to the Wallace Drive Campus will take place the last day of camp. This trip will include an interactive introduction to the College’s Health Science Programs.

With funds received from the U.S. Department of Education, this event is coordinated and conducted by the Title III Program located on the Valley Street Campus. The camp is free to participants; however, space is limited and is required.
