Scholarship offered by Microsoft to benefit a student on Valley Street Campus

Gadsden, Ala.— During the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Microsoft made a $10,000 donation to ÃÈÃÃÊÓƵ’s Valley Street Campus, the area’s only Historically Black College or University.

Microsoft awarded the scholarship money to other HBCUs in Alabama during the World Games as well. Applications are now being accepted from students enrolled in programs on the Valley Street Campus, including Construction Technology, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Certified Nursing Assistant, Dental Assisting, Licensed Practical Nursing, Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Medication Assistant.

The first scholarship will be awarded for the Spring 2023 Semester. The deadline to apply is Dec. 14. In addition to being a Valley Street Campus student, eligibility requirements include:

  • Must be registered for spring classes prior to funding consideration
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must have a completed 2022-2023 FAFSA
  • May be a full-time, part-time, returning or new student
  • Must be in good standing with ÃÈÃÃÊÓƵ

Being a Pell grant recipient does not exclude any student from the scholarship. All scholarships are subject to institutional, federal and state policies and procedures when applicable. Funds can be applied toward tuition, books and/or fees.

Students must complete the General Scholarship Application and meet with an interview committee to be considered. Scholarships will also be awarded for the Summer Semester with a deadline of April 19 and the Fall Semester with a deadline of July 19.
